School Placement
Some students individualized education plans (IEPs) require the school district to place them in a school. Some do not.
How is placement decided?
Placement is based on state and federal rules. Students are placed in a school based on:

The law says that children must go to the school closest to them if possible.

If programs are full more seats cannot be added. Your child has to be placed at a school with open seats.

Your child can only go to a school that has the resources, space, and staff your child needs based on their IEP.
